Types of Sports/Tennis Court Surfaces

Broadly speaking, there are 4 types of tennis court surfaces:
- - Hard tennis courts;
- - Clay tennis courts;
- - Grass tennis courts;
- - Synthetic tennis courts.
Though the measurements of all tennis courts are the same, the variety of surfaces on which people play will vary greatly. At Courtworx we offer four individual types of sports surface construction. You can find out more about these by choosing the links shown on this page.

Types of Court Surface
Courtworx can design, create and cater for the following types of sports surface materials. You may also notice, we have uniquely branded these with our own DEX names. Sportdex (which is tarmac hot lay), Prodex (which is tarmac hot lay but coupled with a latex additive), Polydex Turf (which consists of polypropylene monofilament) and Polydex Pro (containing a Polymeric finish consisting of rubber crumb and polyurethane binding agent).

Hot-lay bitumen Macadam. It is an all-weather surface that is porous.

Latex Tarmac (Prodex)
Hot-lay bitumen Macadam with a latex additive. All weather surface which adapts to weather conditions.

Synthetic (Polydex Turf)
A synthetic grass, it is designed to be more comfortable underfoot and produces a medium to fast paced game.
