Sportdex (Macadam)

The Sportdex system is a hot-lay bitumen Macadam. It is an all-weather surface that is porous and has the playing characteristics favourable to private clients and recreational tennis players. It is a slow to medium paced surface providing all year round performance with minimum maintenance.

Open textured Macadam

Most hard tennis courts are made up of a open textured macadam. This tarmac surface is normally laid between 30 to 50mm in depth. Under the tarmac top surface, there is a base of 14mm stone, allowing it to be a free draining surface. Therefore playable for most of the year.

An open-textured macadam additional basecourse may be added where extra strength is important.
